The Diamond version he received and reviewed was at first glance nearly identical to the Sprint version I’ll be [...]

During his testing period, Mitchell found that he liked the small size of the device, the multitude of radios packed in that small package (HSDPA, WiFi, BT, GPS and FM), the sharpness of the 2.8″ VGA screen, and the 3.2 megapixel camera. Qualities which he found disappointing were the radio strength, the device’s sluggish response time when using the TouchFlo 3D interface, the battery life, the auto-screen rotation, and the faceted back which didn’t allow the device to lay flat.

Mitchell’s verdict was a reluctant Fail, and as he summarized, “I had very high hopes for the Diamond; I wanted it to wipe the smile off Apple’s face, and be a proper competitor to the unstoppable iPhone. But alas it isn’t. It has too many flaws to be a competitor, and to be honest it has too many flaws full stop.”

Can you blame me for not being too excited when it was later announced that Sprint would carry the US version?

However, with memories of the faster processor and updated ROM introduced by HTC when they released the US version of their Touch (versus its European cousin), I thought it might be worthwhile to revisit this particular device, to see if Mitchell’s complaints were still warranted.

Let’s see how the US version fared…

WRT54GX4 - Blackberry

Can ANYONE help?

I have a Blackberry Curve 8320 and the LinkSys WRT54GX4-SRX400 Router.
I have the updated Firmware 1.00.20.
I have tried with MAC filtering on and off.

The Blackberry clearly sees the network, tries to connect and then fails. Reason :W010 - WiFi Association Failed.

I have searched Blackberry forums everywhere, and find multiple instances of the same problem with this model of Router. I am surprised that I have not yet seen it posted here.

I find it hard to believe that one particular model would not be able to connect to the Blackberry. I can connect to other Routers no problem...but that doesn't help me at home.

Can anyone help?

I like the router but am frustrated beyond belief!

Forgive my ignorance if it is apparent...

It is set up to WEP (64 bits 10 hex).
Association Mode - Auto

Using any of the 4 generated WEP keys, it will still not connect. In fact with all security features turned off....same problem.

I just googled it all again, and can't find any answers for this model.

There it is. One Terabyte!! Now, some of you may be looking at that wondering what the big deal is. So, let me tell you about my first computer. I was a sophomore in college. Yes, you read that right. I went to college with a Smith Corona electric typewriter. For you youngsters, well, I will leave you to research exactly what a typewriter is – or was. And bonus points to anyone who can pinpoint the reason for the QWERTY keyboard that you find on every computer ever made.

Anyway, my first computer was a speed demon 386, running MS DOS. I somehow managed to cram Windows 3.1 in there by tweaking the 4 (yes f-o-u-r-4) megabytes of RAM. I can also tell you that Windows used a disproportionately large amount of space on the 20 Megabyte hard drive.

To those of us who used computers back then, a terabyte was almost a mythological place, like Mount Olympus or Atlantis. And to be honest, I am still just a little amazed to have found it at all. So, sit back, relax, and we’ll explore the mythical land of the terabyte, as interpreted by Hammer Storage and their Morespace external hard drive.

And I'm not a sheep, no matter how many times you say it. There's a difference between an institution and the individual members of an institution. I agree that abstinence education may not work, but abstinence does! The Church does NOT go into anyone's bedroom to stop them from having sex. But it's got to be true to it's doctrines, whether the majority of society believes it them or not.

You should not hate or be filled with anger against something because *some* members of that something are evil people. You would end up hating everything, every country, every institution. Do some research and think about things carefully. You'll come across as a person of reason and wisdom.

Can ANYONE help?

I have a Blackberry Curve 8320 and the LinkSys WRT54GX4-SRX400 Router.
I have the updated Firmware 1.00.20.
I have tried with MAC filtering on and off.

The Blackberry clearly sees the network, tries to connect and then fails. Reason :W010 - WiFi Association Failed.

I have searched Blackberry forums everywhere, and find multiple instances of the same problem with this model of Router. I am surprised that I have not yet seen it posted here.

I find it hard to believe that one particular model would not be able to connect to the Blackberry. I can connect to other Routers no problem...but that doesn't help me at home.

Can anyone help?

I like the router but am frustrated beyond belief!
