I have been row 4 for the Rolling Stones: are you willing to risk a $400 ticket over a friggen decent camera shot? No, I go for the music, and with any luck I might have a cell shot to show for it where you can actually tell what friggen band is playing. Have any of you useless whiners ever seen a ticketmaster ticket for anything other than comic con??????
For nearly every venue I have ever been to, (every venue that holds more than 600 people in southern california) they dont allow cameras. RTFA RTFA RTFA
The Hollywood Bowl is a notable exception: I saw a Jet, Kasabian, Oasis triple bill and got some amazing shots BECAUSE THEY ALLOW CAMERAS IN THE VENUE.
Have any of you ever been patted down by somebody other than your craigslist hookers's pimp? k... If you have drugs on you, you arent risking it for a DSLR. If you have PIT TICKETS, you aren't risking that for a DSLR... I am going to All Points West fest next weekend, and they allow cameras without detachable lens.. I will get some great pictures and Readiohead will melt my face..
In september, I am going to seattle to the WaMU theater for Oasis's first US gig since the 2005. THEY DONT ALLOW CAMERAS IN THAT VENUE, AND I REALLY WISH I COULD WHIP OUT MY PHONE FROM THE PIT, AND BE ABLE TO TELL WHO I AM TAKING A PICTURE OF FROM 10 FEET AWAY. That was the point of this post, and why I agree with the post.
