Did pizza delivery before (papa johns even) so from my end it is like this:
1. Dude probably stole it, there are alot of scummy drivers out there
2. The X on the line is less so a *AHEM* with your hand out and more so for the pain of answering the same question a billion times. You actually wouldn't believe how many people ask were to put the tip. I know they are giving money but COME ON! On that note i never did do that because I was lazy.
3. As was said before customer sounded like a prick.
in this case "we are taking it very seriously" equals "Yes i freakin know the problem already basically planned how to investigate and/or written up the pink slip please for the love of god shut up and stop repeating yourself"
You can be sure that the manager was probably banging his head against the wall after the 10 min of this saying to himself, shut up shut up shut up.
.... it should be compulsory service for everyone to work for a living in food service/customer service for at least a year. We would be so much better off as a country.

For nearly every venue I have ever been to, (every venue that holds more than 600 people in southern california) they dont allow cameras. RTFA RTFA RTFA
The Hollywood Bowl is a notable exception: I saw a Jet, Kasabian, Oasis triple bill and got some amazing shots BECAUSE THEY ALLOW CAMERAS IN THE VENUE.

If you have PIT TICKETS, you aren't risking that for a DSLR... I am going to All Points West fest next weekend, and they allow cameras without detachable lens.. In september, I am going to seattle to the WaMU theater for Oasis's first US gig since the 2005. THEY DONT ALLOW CAMERAS IN THAT VENUE, AND I REALLY WISH I COULD WHIP OUT MY PHONE FROM THE PIT, AND BE ABLE TO TELL WHO I AM TAKING A PICTURE OF FROM 10 FEET AWAY. That was the point of this post, and why I agree with the post.

@wellfleet: In the case of my customer, the scorch marks were directly opposite the processor - not near the power supply which is the only place I could imagine sparks coming from under relatively normal circumstances. Now, again, not directing this at you personally or your store, but like I said before, what's stopping a crooked store manager from swiping a stick of ddr ram for later use - possibly as a replacement part for some other customer? Get it for free and sell it to the customer for $50 - all profit. You can't honestly tell me that you can't fathom a crooked manager doing something like that to keep the stores margains up. I used to work in retail, and, without naming nemes or stores, I saw store managers fudge inventory records to achieve a low percentage of shrink so that they would get a bigger bonus. I don't think fudging some records and selling a used stick of ram is above someone who would do things like that.
